Streaming from WME to WMP on PPC

Is it possible to stream from Windows Media Encoder to a WinCE Pocket PC ?
(eg original IPAQ 3660)

I can listen to some Internet Radio stations through my WRouter but I've
been unable to get Windows Media Player 7.1 to connect to a WME stream from
an XP box (on the local LAN). Other desktop PC on the LAN can connect to the
stream OK so it looks like it's the IPAQ with the problem.

I've been following the instruction on this site

However when I try to "open URL" that WME gives me WMP just hourglasses for
20 seconds or so and stops.. Ditto if I enter the IP address instead of the
computer name. I've tried all combinations of enabling and disabling Proxy
settings without any success. I can ping the streaming computer from the
IPAQ as well.
