If i stream audio or video and the player says streaming at 220k for
example, does this mean that it is actually streaming at 220kb/s and
if it doesnt mean that how can i work out how much data has been
downloaded in total depending on length of the stream?

Thanks in advance

du.

220 kilobits/second.
Or about 25Kbytes/second.
So, a minute will be about 25*60 = 1500Kbytes.
