Strange upload speed

Router reports:

Down: 1152k, 62db atten, 12.3dB SNR margin : nothing very surprising

Up: 64k, 31.5dB atten, 7.0dB SNR margin : this seems very odd.

I've never seen such a slow upload speed before. Is it likely that this is
arbitrarily limited by the ISP - actually AOL ??? Or is it really
indicating that the line has rather strange performance parameters?

I have seen similar once or twice. Resynch or reboot the router.

That's always restored sanity for me.

Almost Michaels best bit of advice so far. If only he could shut down the
'router' and *not* restart it, now that would be fantastic news for
Usenet.

It's happened to me once or twice. The first symptom is that VoIP calls
don't work properly. [I can hear the person at the other end, but they
can't hear me].

Breaking and re-making the connection invariably fixes it.
