strange problem connecting to SMTP from outside

Hi all...

This is the scenario:

Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, Domain Controller and Exchange Server
2003. Connection to internet using DSL and WITHOUT firewall enabled.

Inside the LAN I can use SMTP to send mails to other users in the domain.
The problem is when I try to connect from outside.

For example,
If I TELNET <server> 110 I connect to server using POP3 port, receiving the
typical POP3 heading.

If I do the same with other ports, such as IMAP4, it works too.

But when I try to TELNET <server> 25, it cannot connect.

Any idea?

I have the same setup as you with the DSL. When I had this same type of
trouble I found that my ISP had been tinkering with my static IP and had
changed it to something else. After that the email can't resolve to match the
MX record.
