I read somewhere, once , there is a way to stop the
computer from continually searching to connect to ant
available connection. Where I live there are about 5
connections from homes around me. My computer connects
to mine, first, and stays connected, but then starts
looking for other connections and I have to start all
over. Something I can set or disable?

Thanks!!!

What operating system are you on? You should be able to right-click the
notification icon in Systray, select View Available Wireless Networks and
designate your LAN. I would also go into the base station settings and
create a unique SSID and Workgroup name for your LAN. If you're picking up
others around you, they're probably running the same MSHOME or WORKGROUP.
