Hi,

How can I prevent workstations from automatically installing shared printers
found on the network?

Set the Share Permissions on the Printer Shares for only the user accounts
that are supposed to use them.

i think this is more what he was looking for:

control panel, folder options, view.
under "file and folders" look for "automatically search for network folders
and printers"

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for - any idea if (and where)
this can be applied through group policy though?
