Greetings;

I have changed my Red Hat 7.3 server and don't need ipchains to start up
anymore when I boot the system.

How do I change the setting to stop this service from starting
automatically?

chkconfig ipchains off
man chkconfig

Although why one would use ipchains instead of iptables is a mystery.

Tony;

TNX. I needed ipchains a while ago with pmfirewall. Never got into
iptables. Now I have a firewall appliance.

Ida;

I stopped the service there, but didn't know if I removed those items I
would remove the service from starting.
