Static IP causes services to fail

When a Server 2003 system is set to a static IP almost none of the automatic
services are starting (i.e. server, workstation, net logon, etc.). If I
change the system to obtain via DHCP all of the services start without issue.
I have tried different NICs, reinstalling TCP/IP, and reinstalling the
drivers for the network cards. But, I still have the same issue. Does
anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Collin

Maybe a dns issue ?
Do you provide the same dns server as with the dhcp lease?

Is the dns suffix correct ?

Thanks for the ideas. I have configured the system to be a mirror of what
DHCP would assign with the same failed results.

Gladly it is not a domain controller. It is a standalone member server. The
worst part of this is that the logging service fails during startup also so
the only event logs I get are after the system is already finished starting
up.

With a static IP after logging into the system you can startup all of the
services without any issues. That just makes this issue even more weird!!!

Thanks again. No for the team aspect and for the GPO. It seems like there
was an update to the Broadcoms on the dell system that might be the culprit.
It has happen on three systems that are configured basically the same.
