Start from scratch - how?

Hello everyone

This group seems very helpful - I wonder if you can help me do something
very basic?

I'm trying to network two computers wirelessly, ad hoc, to share the adsl
connection and the printer on this computer. This computer has a built in
prism 802.11g and is running XP Home SP1, the other has a netgear USB 2.0
adaptor and XP Pro SP1.

Usually I can get them both to see the network and get on it. However, I
cannot get them to share anything, or in any way acknowledge each others'
existence. I have run the wizard on both, set them both up with names and
descriptions etc.

This may be a false assumption, but I am concerned that in all my fiddling
around with settings, trying alternative names for networks and machines
etc, plus the remains of a a now-disconnected Firewire network I set up (and
ran succesfully) when both computers were in the same room, I might have
caused conflicts. Is there any safe way of removing all the networking
configurations and starting again from scratch?

I'm also a bit mystified by what constitutes a 'legal' WEP encryption key/
setup.

Meur ras!

Paul F
