Start my win 2k server

I am trying to log on to a Win2k server with service pack 4 installed.
It is a domain server and it is at a remote site from the admin building
where the primary servers are.

I try to boot the machine. It starts setting up Win2K and it seems to get
stuck on
"preparing network connections". I tested my laptop with the servers
ethernet cable and I could ping the admin building (so it is not a
connectivity issue).

Any Ideas?

Regards,

I cannot even logon in safe mode, it says that the netlogon service is not
running.
How can I start it without logging on.
