Forgive me if this question popped up here already, but I'm setting up my
Netgear Router WGT624v3 for wireless connection
and I've been asked for SSID. I cannot find the SSID KEY - Where should I
look for it?
Any quick help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

HC

SSID is a name to identify the thing by, to help clients find it.
Often the default refelects the manufacturer - linksys, tsunami,
belkin54g etc

replace it with something like hchouse

The SSID is just the name that you choose togive your wireless network and
has to be set the same on router and clients.
Pick anything you want.

No probs.

If you haven't already done so , now would be a good time to enable some of
the security features to stop other people using your access point.
Restrict connections to just the MAC addresses of your clients ("ipconfig
/all" at a command prompt to find out what this is) and turn on the
encryption as well WPA if possible , if not WEP will do for home use.
