SSID Broadcast turned off then trouble

Sir/Ma'am,
Running Win XP on newer Dells on a 2 system network. I
tried unchecking the "Broadcast SSID" under the Wireless
section of the MN 500 Base Station Mgmt Tool. My
research shows it is a minor step that compliments the
known WEP vulnerabilites (locking the door doesn't stop
the professional thief, only slows'em a second or two).
Anyhow, network operated fine the rest of the nite but
when both were shut down then rebooted in the a.m., the
client (usb mn 510) lost the connection w/the hard wired
base staion and it's associated system. Only rechecking
the ssid in the Base Stat Mgmt Tool reestablished the
connection. Any ideas why?

Known issue (hopefully by MS) with the adapter after the latest
upgrades.
