Hi,
I just installed Squid on a redhat 9 box from rpm package, version
2.5.STABLE1.
Squid starts fine and seems to work, the cache folder contains some data,
however i only get TCP_MISS in the access.log:
1100527674.778 471 127.0.0.1 TCP_MISS/200 1569 GET http://www.squid-
cache.com/ - DIRECT/198.64.149.47 text/html
1100527677.099 449 127.0.0.1 TCP_MISS/200 1569 GET http://www.squid-
cache.com/ - DIRECT/198.64.149.47 text/html

The only strange thing during setup is that i had to set the variable
'visible_hostname' to 'localhost' to avoid errors on startup.

I browsed the newsgroups for a solution but couldn't find any.
Is there any configuration option that i'm missing?

Thanks in advance,

MatB

maybe you should adjust the
refresh_pattern
in the squid.conf file. Be default the most pages are uncacheable. A good
start is to make a statistic for example with a tool like clamaris.
