Hi all, can anyone help me?
I've been using squid to improve my dial up 56k experience for a while now
and am very happy with it, also use it for some connection sharing, but
have a problem in that squid won't start unless there is a connection to
the internet, which means I have to:
Start the 'puter
Connect to the internet
Su to root
start squid manually
If I start squid when there is no connection it just bombs out with some
error
2003/10/08 15:09:21| leave_suid: PID 10318 called
2003/10/08 15:09:21|leave_suid: PID 10318 giving up root, becoming
'nobody'
Aborted
I would like to be able to start squid from an init script, but obviously
this won't work at the moment!
So can anyone tell me how to get squid to stay started when there is no
connection present?
