Ok before people start flaming me I don't want to DO it I just want to know
if it is possible and if so how easy it is!

I have a Wireless access point that only does WEP encryption. This is set to
128 with a random number/letter key. MAC filtering is turned on with it set
to refuse access to MAC addresses not set.

I know WEP is fairly easy to break so I am wondering how easy it is to spoof
a MAC address - in other words how easy would it be to break into my system?

Spoofing a MAC address isn't hard in concept; cable routers do it as
standard to allow you to replace a PC with a router.

This is because cable firms like NTL register your MAC address when you
first connect.

You just require hardware with firmware which will allow you to change the
address, and the software to drive this.

Simple, really ;-)

Same as most security (PC, house, car, shed etc) - nothing is absolutely
100%, but the more difficult you make things, the more likely they are to
try further down the street.
