Lately I seem to be getting lag spikes at almost set
intervals in online games. Doesn't matter what game I
play.
I use the MN-510 wireless adapter. I have another
computer that connects to the base station with CAT5
cable, and this computer doesn't get the spikes.
While I look at the network status page on the MS
Broadban Network Utility program it seems the wireless
channel bounces around every now and then. The
basestation is set to 6, and it normally says six, but
sometimes it says 1 or 11 or 9, etc. Then jumps back to
6. WOuld this be the cause of the random spikes? It
randomly changing channels causing a disconnect for a few
seconds?
I'm getting pretty frusterated, because if this is the
reason, I don't see how I can fix it so it doesn't do
that anymore.
