Lack of a shared resource wouldn't stop the computers from PINGing each
other. Are you running Internet Connection Firewall (connection properties,
Advanced tab) or some other firewall software? Turn off ICF if you're
running it. If you're using some other firewall (like Zone Alarm), add the
10.0.0.0 subnet to the Trusted Zone.
