Hi Guys,

I was wondering if you could help me out with a problem I'm having. I
have an Speedtouch 570 wireless modem with a WinXP laptop and WinXP
PC. The PC is directly conected to the modem and the laptop via a
SpeedTouch 110 wireless card. I can ping the modem from both of them
and can also go on internet via both of them but can't access any one
of them from the other (no ping, file share, etc.). See bellow the
output from ipconfig from each:

[laptop]

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter LAN Wireless:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : lan
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.150
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.138

[pc]

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : lan
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.151
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.138

Please Help.

Thanks,

José

Lack of a shared resource wouldn't stop the computers from PINGing each
other. Are you running Internet Connection Firewall (connection properties,
Advanced tab) or some other firewall software? Turn off ICF if you're
running it. If you're using some other firewall (like Zone Alarm), add the
10.0.0.0 subnet to the Trusted Zone.
