Hi Douglas. Thankyou for the info. I was just about to give up with this one
(but I don't like doing that

.
I'd not heard of the Kitz site but I've bookmarked it now. I found a page on
there which mentions a conflict between IE7 & the 585v6 which causes the
problem I was having.
The solution it suggests is to access the router via the Command Prompt &
enter;
{Administrator}=>system config digestauth=disabled
{Administrator}=>saveall
{Administrator}=>exit
Lo & behold I could then log in via IE7! Then I discovered that powering the
router down & restarting it gives the original problem again so it's
necessary to enter the instruction through telnet again, but that's no
problem I can live that.
I've not finished configuring it yet but when setting the date & time I
found the Month field is stuck on 06 & refuses to budge, so it looks as
though this router is more than a bit buggy!
I previously searched the Speedtouch site & notice they've not produced any
firmware updates for it. It's really annoying there's no mention there
either of the IE7 conflict.
Thankyou again Douglas your help was very much appreciated.
