speedtouch 580,580i any good?

I have been offered the above almost free - price of a pint.
I have an Edimax adsl modem router at the moment on a BT based ISP, but
would like to add wireless capability.
Should I simply use the speedtouch 580i for the whole home network adsl
access, or could I keep the Edimax and use the 580i as a wireless access
point. Or is this looking for trouble?

I have a Speedtouch 716WL which has been very reliable indeed for my
ADSL (and the VOIP seems to be OK too). Whether this has any direct
relationship to how well other Speedtouch hardware will work I don't
really know.
