I have a small network, Win2k server AD Domain & about a dozen XP Pro
& Win2k Pro clients.
It seems kind of slow when opening a network share. I there a way to
speed this up?

I would first investigate the name resolution. Slow access may come from
names resolved via broadcast.
Once this is checked, you may disable SMB signing (if your company policy
allows this kind of change and then throw an eye at that MS blog post for a
complete list of SMB/Explorer related settings to tune:

Hello Mikey,

Check that DNS is only pointing to your internal DNS server, clients and
server. Do not use your ISP's DNS server on the NIC's.
