Speed test with the MN-700 and without

I just run speed test, here are the results:

-Without the MN-700: 578 k up and 800 k down
-With the MN-700: 70 k up and 1000 k down

The upload seems to be very limited, can anyone explain
why?

That's one of the reason I got rid of mine after a week.

I have read several reports of this also.

It also tends to drop connects during large uploads and downloads as well, I
have seen and read about that one too.

Brian are you running a DSL pppoe connection? Have yet to
try it with a cable connection.

Yes, I am using PPPoE with SBC/Yahoo. And the symptoms I described occurred
on both wired and wireless connections.

The thing is I didn't have any trouble with the drops when I used my MN-500.
(The wireless went TU so I replaced with an MN-700)

I also found surfing in general slower on the MN-700 than on the MN-500.

When I took the MN-700 back, I got a Linksys WRT54g and it is at least 5 to
10 times faster overall than either of the MN- products.

The other thing the MN-700 was doing was connecting and reconnecting PPPoE
during the night time hours, which means the IP was reassigned 7-10 times
each night it was in operation.

Thanks just wanted to confim that ir was pppoe dsl
connection, the MN-700 does have trouble with it. I am
getting ready to buy a Linksys WRT54g as well. I will be
given the MN-700 to my girlfriend that is running a cable
connection.

I just wish Microsoft would deal with this problem, or at
least give us an indicatiion that they confirm and are
trying to fix the problem.

Have you ever noticed any official notification from MS that they are concerned
with any of these problems or have anyone working on this hardware line?? ;-)

I thank my lucky stars that my MN-700 is working nicely AS AN ACCESS POINT. I
have not tried it as a real router (running as a firewall of sorts etc) but it
seems from all the other posts here that there are plenty of issues. Even
running as an AP, the interface to the box needs a lot of work to be useful. At
the moment it is simply adequate. YMMV.
