Hi everybod
I have just come back from hols. I had a nice present of
1125 spams waiting for me. I phoned up orange and asked for a new account.
They said open a hotmail acc. I said I am paying you for an isp acc and you
are telling me to do a HOTMAIL acc, and they do it for nothing? They told me
I could not have a another acc. I told them I want my MAC, because I am
changing isp's

So which is a good isp for roughly £12 ish and a 8 meg a month or more and
its has to be in GB ( call centre) and not in India with an expensive phone
bill thrown in

so BOG of ORANGE not worth a carrot

Fist thing to realise is that there is no reason ti use teh same ISP for
connectivity as e-mail.

This is the noddy route. By setting up your own e-mail on a decent email
provider and using the ISP merely as transport, you can easily change
ISPs without being locked into their e-mail system as well.

a third party emial provider can at minimal cost merely redirect e-mail
to yor current ISP's email box, or if you spend a little more, actually
host a pop3 box for you, making you totally independent. Most also offer
webmail access so you can scan your email from anywhere in the world,
and delete the spam without downloading it.

I use clarenet for mail (clarahost lite: my won omains and 5 pop bices
and a small webs site each): they additionally have a pretty good set of
user configurable spam filters: technically quite hard to set up,
but worth it.

Some email boxes block everything from aol, google and yahoo EXCEPT the
very few people I know (family) who use such benighted services.

Most ISP based mail addresses aren't worth a carrot actually, although your case
is exceptional.

Get you own domain.

Simple. I run my own company - which means I can pretty much do what I like,
including (if I wanted) spending "24/7/365 on here then".
The 3 telcos you list either were or are customers of mine.

Next ?
