Andrew;
You did not mention your OS, I have a Vaio PCG-FX410, running XP Home with
a Linksys WPC11 going to a BEFW11S4. Two machines on my net are 98Se and 1
is XP Pro the other is the XP Home. The 2 98 machines are wired and the 2
XP machines are wireless. While I have no "BSOD's", I have had minor
problems with set-up and am by NO means a staunch supporter of Linksys
(their tech support was NO! help), I just have this combo working. I was
able to get help from the good folks on this NG with my problems in setup,
and have been running fine for a few months now. You may want to try this
combo if 802.11b is OK for you, and returning the existing equipment is an
option. I did learn that XP does not like having SSID turned off, BTW.
