SNMP and smtp are two different things.

The output you list shows netdisco trying SNMP version 1.

If you really do have snmp installed on the Windoze pc,
what version is it?

You may need to invoke netdisco discover with an appropriate
version setting for that host.

See <http://www.netdisco.ORG/readme.html#using_netdisco>

You either asked the person who installed SNMP on the machine or
do a query to the machine to find out.

The documentation to which I referred you explains how to set
up the appropriate default version in the configuration file.

Furthermore, have you tried doing a websearch on your problem?

Because you really need to read the information at

<http://bugs.debian.ORG/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=602271>

as to how to possibly resolve the problem of

"! Device Not Supported or I can't connect to it via SNMP."

QUOTE

The email from Herr Schneider resolves the issue completely.
It is not a fix, but a work-around.
