Hello,
I just installed Redhat 9.0 and then Samba 2.7.5.8~
There was trouble getting swat to build a smb.conf
file but from win xp I can finally see cyber and tmp.
I can ping the other computers on the net but don't
know how to bring them up on the linux screen.
I think I have some errors because root seems shared.
[root@cyber xinetd.d]# smbclient -L localhost
added interface ip=192.168.1.7 bcast=192.168.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0

WORKGROUP PAUL
WORKGROUP is in my smb.conf but I'm not sure how
to delete the MSHOME though Cyber is the linux box name.
Samba server (Cyber) and desk by door (Paul) both show
up in 'view workgroup computers' in win xp network places;
I'm looking for the equivalent interface for Gnome RH9.
Regards,
Stephen
