Dlink 2000AP and Dlink 2100AP might as well be made by two different
manufacturers. They will not work together in either a load balancing
mode or a repeater mode. If you want to achieve either of these
modes, you should basically buy several identical dlink products that
support that mode. The exceptions are:
1. Search the dlink knowledgebase for them to specifically say two of
their products work together in a specific way. If it doesn't say so
specifically, assume they will not work.
-But be careful: the dlink website says that the DWL2100AP "works"
with the DI-624 router. However, I've read that you can't use repeater
mode between these two.
I've wasted many hours trying to extend my network signal because the
lovely dlink support is not very robust. So, I pass on this info to
you.
Contradictions, comments welcome.
