We're running a single Domain AD environment in Server 2003 Functional mode
with an AD-integrated DNS Zone. Our network is pretty small with about 100
Workstations all running Windows XP Pro with SP2 and about 25 servers
Running Windows Server 2003 With SP! or Windows Server 2003 R2.

We have 3 workstations on the network that for some reason are not showing
up when we go to browse the "Entire Network". These machines can be pinged,
we can connect to shares on them by typing the \\computer name\share, they
show up fine in ADUC and DHCP, but not in My Network places.

The machines are created from standard Ghost images and other machines
created with the same image do not have these problems. Apart from not
showing up when browsing the network the machines behave as any other domain
workstations.

The only problem is we use Symantec System Center console to deploy the
Symantec AntiVirus client and updates to all our machines, and when we try to
do remote installs on these machines they do not show as being available to
deploy the client to.

Is there anything we can do to make sure these machines show up?

The first thing to realize is that this has nothing to do with AD.
Browsing is an NT legacy app which uses network broadcasts and Netbios
names. It is driven by the computer browser service.

The first thing to check is that Netbios over TCP/IP is enabled on the
workstations. Without that they will never appear in a browse list.
