I have a wired router in my garden office, a Draytek 2600, but find I
occasionally need wireless access via that router whilst in the house
with my laptop.

I have been looking at the Solwise range, in particular, the Billion
myGuard 7202G as it suits my budget!

However, would I maybe be better getting just a wireless access point,
and hooking that into the Draytek ... something like the Linksys WAP54G
Wireless-G Access Point maybe ... and letting the Draytek handle the
connection et al?

No idea about customer service etc. but FWIW Komplett do it approx £10
cheaper.

The Billions seem popular in Oz. Might be worth a look on the Whirlpool
forums.

I know when I was considering that router I did a lot of digging and
came to the conclusion that a Zyxel was worth the extra over the Billion
as I didn't feel comfortable paying Draytek prices for residential use.

The Access Point should also work just fine in theory so that's probably
the cheapest option.

cheers,
Paul
