FYI: for those of you who have problems with old bnc coaxial ethernet NICs,
i have recently solved a problem and i would like to inform you.

All my nics was correctly recognized and installed by operating system, but
i was not able to ping between two PCs. I was sure about my network
settings because with two new, CAT. 5 nics everything worked well.

Finally, i was able to ping between two PCs with some combo card. I checked
IRQ automatically assigned for these cards and it was 10. I checked IRQ for
older, not-pinging cards and it was 3.

I manually changed IRQ 3 to IRQ 10 for older cards, and voila', PCs started
to ping themselves.

Hope this helps.
