socket error

iget this is not a socket message while trying to install
cable modem on some computers ,os xp whith that msg they
are nabl to surf

That would mean the TCP/IP stack on that computer is damaged. Windows
XP newsgroups may have more information as this newsgroup is for the
Microsoft broadband networking hardware.
