I've just picked up a Linksys WAP11 (version 2.6) which, BTW, has much
better range than the BEFW11S4 combo.

I'm trying to learn more about the following:

1) What do all the different registers represent when using the SNMP tool to
configure / boost the radio power.

I see 14 channel lines, each with 3 boxes (CR17, CR20, CR21). Do these
registers represent different regions as some have suggested, or are they
part of some algorithm? Should all three in each row be changed to 80 for
max power?

What about CR1, CR2, CR3, CR28 & CR29?

2) how can I change the so-called community string? even if I change it
under setup / authorization, I can still get in using "public". Surely this
isn't secure?!?!

Thanks to all in advance,

SOI

Definitely not, you should filter out SNMP (I think it's udp on
ports 161 and 162) from your wan connection or you'll get zapped.
