How to SNMP the AccessPoint DWL-900AP+

Hello,

I bought a Wireless Lan Access Point (D-Link DWL-900AP+, Software
Revision 2.62). According to the D-Link web page, this Access Point is
managable through SNMP.

I'd like to read the Signal Quality Level through SNMP.

First I tried the SNMP tool "ap-config" [1], but it could not retrieve
any information. Then I tried the net_snmp package[2] ("snmpget"), but
I'm missing the correct OID. I only found OIDs for standard parameters
[3] (name, IP, MAC address,...) but none relevant to the wireless
properties.

Does anybody know the appropriate OIDs (or tools) I have to use?

Thanks a lot!

Cheers

Try Getif which you can get from here:
<http://www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc/getif.htm>

On the Parameters tab set
Host name = 192.168.0.50 (the default IP address of the DWL-900AP+)
Use the default Read community string 'public'
Click Start

The MBrowser tab allows you to browse the entire built-in MIB. Browse
to the instance in the tree structure that you are interested in and
click Start to return the values.

I can't see any value which looks like what you want, but if it's
there it's likely to be in the
..iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises OID. Have you asked D-Link
for a MIB for the DWL-900AP+?

Getif certainly works against the DWL-900AP+. I have both a Rev B1
and a Rev C2 model.

If you are looking for tools to graph data monitored by SNMP, then
either the free version of PRTG or the Perl-based MRTG will do the
job.

Hope this helps

It isn't our's either. It's ours, and likewise yours and theirs.
