Sniffer for Proxy Server

Our company needs to monitor the employee's internet usage, such as:

- Instant Message (MSN Messanger etc) conversations
- E-mail conversations and
- Websites accessed

The 20 PCs that's gonna be monitored access internet thru a proxy
server, namely a Red Hat running Squid.

So I was thinking about running a sniffer on that server to do the job.

My problem is: Which sniffer should I pic? Any recommendation?

Why? Configure a transparent proxy and you're set.

You forgot about:

- Telephone
- Elevator
- Cafeteria
- Lavatory (Be sure to place web cams)
- Any other place those suckers might hide from work

What makes me curious is why you would use a sniffer at all if
you control the squid server?
