Sounds unlikely to me that blocking cookies would cause a loss in
internet connection. This may not be useful at all but I had the exact
same problem as you af few weeks ago. I own a SMC7004VBR and I was
losing connection periodically. I would call Comcast but by the time
they answered, i was connected again. I bypassed the router and found
out that I would still lose connect so I finally ruled out the barricade
router. After much frustration, I finally gave in and replaced my old (3
years old) RCA cable modem with a new Motorola cable modem and the
problems have gone away. The speeds increased too since the new modem is
Docsis 2.0 compatable and the old one was only 1.1 Fortunately this only
cost me $60.00. I would try bypassing the router to see if you still
have your problems and go from there. Sorry if this is unhelpful!
