Make a wired connection between a computer and on of the router's LAN ports.
Never administer the router from a wireless connection; the password is sent
in the clear.
In the address bar of your web browser, enter the IP address of the router's
LAN adapter. Supply the password. Click on "Advanced Setup." Look under
the Information column for Runtime Code Version; that's the firmware
version.
Stay with version 1.10. Version 1.11a is buggy.
