I would use a crossed cable from one of the ports on the Linksys to one of
the LAN ports on the SMC, and leave the SMC-WAN port empty.
This way, the wireless clients, and the wired clients attached to the SMC
will all be on the subnet and using the DHCP addresses from the Linksys.
Of course, you'll lose the firewall of the SMC, which is superior to that
(non-existent) on the Linksys low end routers.

Anything outside the range being issued by the Linksys.
It can be on something completely foreign to the subnet used by other
ports on the Linksys, and it will still be reachable because the Linksys
is the router and default gateway for the client PCs.

The opening screen of the SMC configuration can be ignored. All you want
there is "Advanced". On install, I go to Advanced, and start at the top,
clicking my way down through each of the pages on the left hand side.
The IP address of the SMC admin interface is set under "LAN".

The guys I talked to were in Singapore.
