SMC Barricade SMC7004VBR CA locking

I bought a SMC Barricade model# SMC7004VBR CA Part# 751.7923 from Future Shop. In the last few days the router will work for a few hours and then have to be reset. I want to update the firmware, but when I check SMC the part# is not listed. Does anyone use this router and know if there is another part number that is the same.

I had a simular problem with an SMC router about a year ago. I could not
find ANYTHING on the SCM web site that referred to the part number on my
router. SMC email suport was worthless. I finally found what I wanted on
the EUROPEAN web site. When you first go to the SMC home page you are
asked to select a region and/or country. If you go to the United
Kingdom site you may find what you need.

You may have to remove a cookie to get to the "select a country" page
since , like many sites, SMC recordes your preferances.

I was more successful than you were with the SMC e-mail support, and I
was told to select the part number 750.645 of the SMC7004VBR (not -CA).
It's the firmware version 1.232. I flashed it without any problem.

Ooops.. I did not check my unit before answering. The model I own is
a part #720.645. Sorry for that.

Seems that this was not a simple exception from SMC.. It tells much
about their *support*.. :-(

Under the SMC7004VBR (not CA) support, I see that there is a firmware
for part # 751.7922. Maybe it's your best bet ?
