I just bought an SMC 2835W-CA wireless pcmcia net card, after finding out
that I could not use my linksys WPC54G card. I Redhat 9.0 notebook is
doing the same thing. Nothing. When it boots up, the kernal says that is
is loading a wlan0 ok. I am not sure what that is or if it has to do with
my card. I am not sure what to do to get this card working, or if I can
even get it working in linux. Can some one point me in the right
direction. I am fairly new to linux.

Do you know what driver I need to use? Is the wlan0 the card?

Tom

there are only a few wireless cards that are stock built into the rh 9.0
kkernel, i know that any card based off the orinco chipset or a PRISM-II
based card will work, the one i use is a Linksys WPC11 ver. 3 which is
Prism 2 based.
