I'm just getting back into Linux / Unix after several years away. My
wife's machine is a WinXP Home system and I want to share a directory
of my data drive /mnt/data on my Lindows box with it. I've got Samba
all set up thru the KDE interface, but it will only let me share files
in my home directory /root (I'm logged in as root...yes, I know). I
was already sharing /root/network as [Share], so I went and edited
/etc/samba/smb.conf and copied the entry to a new entry called [Temp]
and ran smbcontrol smbd reload-config. OK, so now I can see [Temp] as
a share on my WinXP box, but any attempt to access it gives a
permissions error.

Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Jason
