Small Network "Limited or no connectivity" status in Windows XP

I am trying to establish a small network by using the network wizard. My
problem is that the icon at the menu bar shows the above status message. I
can ping from the main computer (the one connected to internet) to the other
computer and works fine. When I try to do the same the other way from the
other computer to the main one it shows a communications time out. Also from
the main computer I can access the shared folders in the remote computer but
not the other way around. I substituted the remote computer by a laptop but
it shows the same behavior.
Please let me know what do you think.

Check the firewall first. Also check this link.
