I have 1 win2k server with DC and buy a new one win2003 server with DC for
migration. At first, I set the trusted between both server for partially
migration (ie. set some client login to new domain but still map to win2k
server folder).
I found that the XP client that copy file from win2003 server is slower that
from win2k server very much. (ie. 120MB file from win2k server is 2 mins,
win2003 server is 21 mins). If upload file from XP client is no any problem.
And there is no any problem for Win2000 client.

Anybody can help me ? Thanks a lot !

Po

Hello Po,

So is the new machine also planned for new domain or is it member of the
domain where also the clients are? Did you use the latest NIC drivers from
the vendor? How is the switch setup on the ports for the new server, Auto
or fixed for 100 or 1000?

Best regards

Dear Meinolf Weber

Thanks for your help at first.
The win2k server is "servername.domain" and win2003 server is
"servername.hp.domain" Both server was setup as an individual domain
controller and setup the trusted relation finally. In another site, I have
the same model win2003 server that connecting to 10/100 switch but no any
slow performance issue yet. Thus, I didn't update the latest NIC driver yet.
The Win2k and Win2003 server is connecting to Gigabit Switch and the port is
"Auto" mode. I tried to connected the win2003 server to 10/100 switch but
still slow performance.

Thanks !
