hi, we have one windows 2003 small business server running
as a domain controller, all the workstations are running
windows 2000 professional, on each of them, it takes 10 to
20 seconds to browse the local network through my network
places, all workstations login to server fast and transfer
files fast too, so i know it's nothing to do with the DNS
setup, but it just slow when browsing the network, anyone
know what causing that? any help is appreciated.

sam.

Sam:

Do you have a WINS server set up? From what I've seen in these posts here,
network browsing is not reliable without WINS, even if you have all Windows
2000 and above clients/servers. Also, the workstations might have extra
protocols installed, so check that.

Regards,
Martin
