Have you turned off autosense on all the network cards (locked them down at
a specific speed/duplex setting)?
Are you using AD? If so, is your DNS set up correctly (no external/ISP DNS
servers specified in any of the workstation/server IP configs)?

Hi

Why copying files to a remote mapped drive is slow (The destination of the
share is W2k3) and when finding the share using My Network Places and
copying the files using the shared folder in Network Places is normal (fast)
?

Thanks

Change from autosense to 100/full or 100/half or whatever your switch/hub
can support, and see if that helps.

Also - in a command line, type

net use

and see if you have any drives mapped to inaccessible/unavailable
shares/servers.

No, NICs are in auto mode.
Yes, my preferred DNS is the IP of the AD PDC server (the only one in our
network)

Everything works fine, only the mapped drives is slow.
Accessing via My Network Places, finding the server and the shared folder
and
copying the files works fine at full network speed.

The link is ok ! Why the link might be causing trouble only with the mapped
drive ?
Using the my network places it works well. If the link are the guilt, using
the My Network Places
instead a mapped drive might be slow too !

All the mapped drives are ok and connected.
