Since installing a wireless netwrok, configured to ad hoc between two
machines and sharing broadband connection via external USB Modem my system
seems to have developed a problem.

Whenever Interenet connection is first made after power up whether outlook
express or internet explorer my system appears to hang for around 10
minutes, only the internet application responds (if somewhat slower), after
the timeout period anything that has been clicked on comes to live and
appears on the screen.

During the hang period I cannot acess task manager to see what is hogging
the resources, spyware checks and virus scans have been done so I know its
not unwanted stuff causing the problem. Windows event log doesn't appear to
show anything that could explain this problem either....

Has anyone got any ideas on the cause of this problem and possible
solutions...

The OS is Windows XP Pro SP1, Virus scanner McAfee 8, Firewall MS Windows,
Network card PCI Wireless 11mbps 802.11B

TIA
Birderman
