We've had an interesting problem that we used to have running windows
2000 server, and now the exact same issue with 2003.
We have a server that is the domain controller using active directory
and all that. It's our DHCP server, coughing up IPs for 3 scopes.
(Same issue occured using just one scope before I believe, but not
1000% sure) Sometimes it can take up to over a minute to give an IP to
a user using DHCP. There are no physical network issues. Throughput
has been tested. We've just upgraded to gigabit, and the issue still
occurs. The server has almost no load on it. This same problem has
occured when we have set up other similar networks, and we can't figure
out what we're doing wrong. Any suggestions, ideas, or ways to narrow
down the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
