Hi Robert,
Thanks for the reply; I've been away this entire week. I think you are onto something here. After revewing the event log on the server I have countless errors with the source = MRxSmb and ID = 8003. However when looking at your fix it appears as if I might be creating a problem on the "p4-1600" xp client that is broadcasting the Master Browser error.
Suggestions sir?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,
What should I be looking for when it takes 10, 15, 20 seconds or more for
the XP client(s) to browse the DC or any of the other Windows 2003 servers
in my network? I am not using ISA or any NAT on the server that I know of,
I have stopped the Windows firewall locally but the performance is flakey at
best. Once I establish the connection it works for a while quickly and then
returns to its slugish state.
I am using a Cisco 871 with DHCP, Dell switches, 100MB Cat5e and today it's
been just me in the office the entire day.
Thanks,
Chris
