Slow connection - evenings only

My Onetel connection is fine during the day but in the evenings it slows
down to a snail's pace and much of the time I can't send mail or access the
web at all.

Onetel are looking into it, but while they do that is there anything I can
check at my end? have anti-virus and spyware software installed but don't
know what else I can do or check.

Any ideas? I'd be very grateful.

Onetel? Don't you mean TalkTalk nowadays?

Not trying to be cheeky, but if you *are* with Onetel then you'd be
better off with a couple of tin cans and a length of string for an
ISP. Previous posts refer.
