Hi group.

Now that I have a static IP, could someone point me towards a site showing
how I can connect to my PC from another machine elsewhere?
It's connected via a router on my home network if that makes a difference.

Google doesn't seem to understand my question :-(

Cheers
Steve

Which OS is it on the PC at home, Steve?

If it's XP Pro, you can use the built in remote desktop feature:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...op/default.asp

If it's not XP, you will probably need some 3rd party software, but try
searching for "remote desktop", or "VNC" on Google.

Either way, you will probably need to make a config change on your firewall
to direct incoming traffic on the right port to your PC, but the port number
will vary depending what remote desktop software you use.

Cheers

Rob
