Customs & Excise have recently revamped their site and it's been running at
a snails pace since then. I can't even get into the section I need, it just
seems to forget what it's doing.

Anyone else noticed this? (before I check with my ISP to see if it's just
me).

Anth

It does seem slow compared to many other sites. I am sure EDS will be
along shortly to upgrade it :-)

Probably at some huge cost to the taxpayer, as usual. <G>

Yes, it is slow.

Have you told them?

Yes although I have no idea yet if they got it (and of course I doubt
they'll reply).

What a major pain!

Suggestion: try and find the page that has the information you request
using Google. You could do a search on "keywords site:hmce.gov.uk" and
it will only respond with the pages matching the keywords from the
HMCE website. You can then click on "Cached" for the relevant page to
see Google's copy of it - should be a lot faster.

Excellent!

I didn't bother with a cached copy of what I needed as they seem to be
running the old website (possibly in tandem) from a ww2.hmce.gov.uk site
(which popped up as a result) and runs just like it used to.

Cheers

Anth

.... if they're not too busy getting sued by Sky for screwing up their CRM
system (business pages in today's newspapers).
