HI
Ordered sky bb, due to go live tomorrow Fri 4th July
Got a Sagem router

My son originally ordered sky TV in his name so the username, password
and email address are his. I have sent a letter to sky asking for
the account to be changed into my name (sky's instructions)

Can I change the username/password/email address now, or will I have
the wait for sky to do that?, I seem to remember reading that the
username & password are hard-wired into the router

Installation
Do I have to use the sky CD?

You can't change your username or password. The email address you will get
will be your (E-Mail Removed). If you don't like it, simply create a new
one and use that.

Installation is really plug and play, attach router to phone line, connect
to pc using cat 5 cable and you are off. You don't need the installation CD
at all - unless you want to install the McAfee crap suite onto your pc and
kill it!! You may have to go into internet propeties though and remove the
default connection (your previous ISP). Think I have mine set to "Never
dial a connection".

When changing things just watch if you are starting new agreements that the
old being cancelled does not mean you pay penalties.
My neighbour recently got Sky, Sky 'phone and broadband.
After only a few weeks Sky contacted him and said if you pay line rental to
us we will save you a £1 per month. He thought great, said yes signed up,
then got a cancellation bill from BT of about £240. ( Only a month earlier
than getting Sky Tv he had changed from cable 'phone to BT.)
